David Cross Denies Being 'Racist' & A 'Bully' After Charlyne Yi Accuses Him Of Calling Her 'Ching-Chong-Ching-Chong' A Decade Ago

There are some actors in Hollywood you would never peg to be closet racists. This week, David Cross was shocked and confused to learn this about himself.

The Arrested Development star took to Twitter on Tuesday to deny being a racist and a bully after actress Charlyne Yi recalled an unsavory anecdote about meeting him ten years ago.

Over the weekend, Yi claimed that Cross was a racist asshole to her when she was a "young 20 year old woman," accusing him of making fun of her "poor" pants, condescendingly asking if she spoke English, and even shouting "ching-chong-ching-chong" at her.

She fired off:

Um… WTF, Tobias???

The 53-year-old was just as taken back by these accusations. In response, Cross claimed he did NOT recall their first encounter and wondered if the 31-year-old was "misremembering" the details of that night.

Standing firm that he is "not a racist nor a bully and loathe them in real life," Amber Tamblyn's husband said he has reached out to Yi to get clarity on the decade-old exchange:

The actor may not remember uttering such words, but as most Twitter responders pointed out, it's hard to forget moments when one is called a racist name like "ching-chong" -- especially when it comes from someone famous.

Also, maybe take the time to spell Charlyne's name correctly in your "apology", David???

Sounds like the actor could use a good analrapist to unpack this with.
